Every year, BPL colleagues nominate and vote on a headline charity to support for the coming 12 months. This year, Dementia UK has won the popular vote, following nominations from across BPL’s offices.
BPL’s corporate philanthropy has always been informed by the causes that matter most to our people. Through BPL Impact, our approach is structured around four pillars – including Health & Wellbeing – shaped by colleagues’ personal connections, experiences and commitment to supporting organisations that make a meaningful difference.
Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nursing charity. With nearly one million people in the UK living with dementia, its nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, are a lifeline for the whole family.
This year, BPL is proud to support Dementia UK as its Charity of the Year and looks forward to working with the charity over the coming months, including exploring opportunities for colleagues to learn more about its vital work.
Joanna Sullivan, Deputy Director of Fundraising at Dementia UK: “We’re grateful to BPL’s employees for choosing Dementia UK as the organisation’s Charity of the Year. BPL’s generous support will help us reach more people through our dementia specialist Admiral Nurses. Working across our Helpline and in a range of health and social care settings, Admiral Nurses offer practical and emotional support to anyone affected by dementia at any stage of the condition.”
Matthew Graham, Director of Risk and Chair of BPL’s Charity Committee at BPL said “Dementia UK was chosen by our colleagues through BPL’s annual Charity of the Year vote, which reflects how deeply this cause resonates across the business.
Through BPL Impact we are proud to support organisations making a meaningful difference, and we look forward to working with Dementia UK over the year ahead to help raise awareness of its vital work.”
