BPL Impact

Driving change, with impact

When we are giving, we start with the impact that we hope to see. Then we work backwards to empower charities working towards that outcome.

The Four Pillars

BPL has long supported causes our people care about. BPL Impact takes that commitment further, putting greater structure around our charitable giving efforts.

At the centre of the strategy are four pillars, shaped by the priorities of our colleagues and reviewed through our employee-led Charity Committee. These pillars offer a framework to help us direct our support to areas where the need is acute, the impact is measurable, and the scope to partner is long-term.

Social Empowerment & Inclusion

Supporting those at the edges of society, from people facing homelessness to survivors of modern slavery.

Humanitarian Response & Resilience

Funding practical solutions in response to conflict, natural disasters, and urgent humanitarian needs.

Environmental Protection

Backing efforts to reduce environmental harm and protect vulnerable communities from climate impacts.

Health & Wellbeing

And funding initiatives that support health and wellbeing, from treatment and prevention to awareness.

More than one way to make an impact

With BPL Impact, our support extends beyond funding. While donations remain central, we also offer our time, space and visibility to charities. It’s a more rounded approach, designed to build lasting relationships and help our partners maximise their impact.

We provide financial support to our partners, prioritising multi-year commitments wherever possible. This allows charities to plan, grow and deliver with fewer short-term pressures.

Colleagues are given the opportunity to contribute directly. Three paid volunteer days are available each year to support charities across our – or their own – network.

We offer match funding to boost our employees’ fundraising, multiplying individual efforts.

We open our offices to our charity partners for use in their own workshops, launches and events.

We encourage our colleagues to take up ambassador or trustee positions at charities whose missions resonate most with them.

We seek to elevate the incredible work of our charity partners wherever possible, whether that’s through networking or making introductions, or promoting their efforts via our own communications channels, to help raise awareness of what they do.

Headline partners

Three headline charity partners will receive funding through this new strategy, as part of an overall commitment under BPL Impact to give £1.2 million over the next three years. Each charity has been selected based on its alignment with one or more of our four pillars, and the impact our partnership has already had, reflecting the kind of relationship we want to build: long-term, purposeful and grounded in trust.

We See Hope

WeSeeHope

East End Foundation

BPL has supported the Foundation through its Life Chances campaign, helping connect corporate giving to long-term, locally-led change.
Insulate Ukraine

Insulate Ukraine

Insulate Ukraine develops low-cost, fast-to-install insulated window systems that make war-damaged homes liveable again. BPL was the charity’s first corporate donor and remains a founding partner, supporting its growth from early prototype to national impact.

What BPL Impact means

This short film sets out the story behind BPL Impact: why it exists, how it works, and the values that underpin it. Hear from colleagues and charity partners about what our commitment means in practice.

BPL Impact reflects a simple idea: that our capacity to give should grow alongside the business

BPL Impact is a long-term strategy, designed to support our partners and for the people and communities in the way that they need. The framework we have developed brings focus to how we support charities, helping us stay consistent, even as needs change.
